The day lodge is available for rental 11:00am to sunset from April 1 through October 31.  The lodge is equipped with a fireplace (firewood not included), restroom facilities, a large covered porch and a kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, and 50-cup coffee maker. The building is air conditioned in the spring/summer and heated in the fall.  A freestanding charcoal grill, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits and picnic tables are available outside the Day Lodge for your use.

You can now make reservations for the Day Lodge on-line, www.ohiostateparks.org or by calling 1-866-OHIO-PARKS (866-644-6727). Reservations can be made up to a yeaer in advance or at least two days prior, and there is an $8.25 reservation fee when making reservations.

The park has four picnic areas: Main, Lower, Wingo and Orton. The Lower area has a shelter house available for reservations from April 1 to October 31.  All other times, or if it is not reserved, it is available on a first come, first-served basis.

All areas have tables, grills and latrines. All four picnic areas, except Orton,  have drinking water.  Leashed pets are welcome.  Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Lower and Main Picnic Areas have large expanses of grass, with large trees scattered about for shade.  The Main Picnic Area has a small playground.  The Lower Picnic Area is close to the access to the trails along the Little Miami River.

The stone shelter house in the Lower Picnic Area is reservable for a fee of $50.00.  The shelter house has two stone fire places, a waist-high grill, close access to drinking water and restrooms and hiking trails.  No electric is available.  The shelter house is open for use year-round from sunrise to sunset, but is only reservable from April 1 to October 31.

The Wingo Picnic is a highly shaded picnic area near the access to the rock climbing area.  There is an observation deck overlooking the Clifton Gorge near the Wingo Picnic Area.  This overlook has handicap accessible features.  The trail leading to this overlook starts at the Wingo Picnic Area.

 

The Orton Picnic area has large expanses of grass and connects to the Rim Trail leading back into the park and Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve.
